Livin' it up. Sort of.
Once Clair is gone Grey wastes no time finding his feet. The going is painfully slow but eventually he figures out how to walk. He makes his way slooowly to the bathroom.

Grey manages to brush his teeth, shower, change his clothes, and change the gauze pad on his arm. And it only takes him a few hours! But by the end... he's noticing that things are getting easier. That he can feel again. Just a little. Pressure here... a pin-prick of pain there (ribs, agh, he's been moving too erratically).

He's noticed that there is a pen and a journal on the desk... but he highly doubts he'll be able to manage writing quite yet. Not easily anyway. Instead he finds an easy snack in the kitchenette and then... well why not? He checks the door. And is rather surprised to find it open.

He stands there for a moment. Why would it be open? Was it purposeful? A slip of the mind? Was she toying with him....?

....He quietly slips out.
Current Mood: Cautious.

"Hello, Clair!" Grey says in an entirely too loud and cheerful manner. He snickers a bit. Normally he might be a little more annoyed, seeing as she rather made him sound like a child or a pet there.

"You left the door unlocked. Slip of the mind, Clair?" Well. She doesn't seem to have known he was free. But then she wouldn't let on if she did would she? Bah, who knows. It's about here he realizes she lacks the actuators.

Hm. Oh. Hm. Well... he could attack her. However he has nothing to take her hostage with in order to demand a PINpoint. And the other man was still here. And he wasn't sure he wanted to leave just yet. And attacking her would definitely give his broken rib another wrench, much like toppling over in octopus induced unconsciousness had. Grey is good at hiding pain. He's hoping she hasn't noticed still.

"Mark, tying a shirt around your head does not make you a ninja. Neither do socks with little throwing stars on them." It's all fond teasing. The two siblings are as close as they look.

"Must have been. Of course, I thought you safely hobbled by the drug. How're you feeling?"
Dr. Grey: Self destruct?grey_matter on September 23rd, 2007 12:51 am (UTC)
Grey snickers.

"Apparently you thought wrong!"

As for her question, he throws his arms (well... arm at this point) out a bit as he speaks. "Wonderful!" He proclaims loudly. Though if she's paying careful attention she might have seen the slightest wince. Throwing his arm out didn't do much for the rib either.

Mark rolls his eyes. Oy. All this cheerfulness can get annoying.

She crosses the lab (which looks so much larger, without the writhing presence of her arms), and pulls out a step-stool to reach a locked upper cabinet.

"You all right, Grey? You look a little sore."
Dr. Grey: Anatomy.grey_matter on September 23rd, 2007 03:08 am (UTC)
"Quite fine!" He assures her quickly. He pads quickly across the lab after her and watches curiously.

"Some very interesting things you have here." He comments, attempting to hook his arms behind his back. This fails, naturally, do to the fact that he only has one. Bah.

"I toogk someb dayquil bud id's nod helping buch." Mark admits. More nose-blowing, and he empties his pockets of used tissues into a nearby trashcan.

"Hey where are your armbs?"

Clair scoffs at your over-the-counter medications, Mark. And tosses you a little unmarked tube of pills. "In my room. Take one now, one with dinner, and one when you wake up. You're going to ache a little, but that's expected."

"And thank you, Grey."
Dr. Grey: Grey.grey_matter on September 23rd, 2007 03:28 am (UTC)
Grey will just be grinning away over here thnx! He watches Clair toss the the tube to Mark. He'd kind of like to get his hands on some of those.

"Where did you say we were again? I saw planets you know. In that room." He gestures idly. "Space."
mark_i_am: Super Mark!mark_i_am on September 23rd, 2007 03:32 am (UTC)
"Thangs, Clair! By patronds ad the bar thang you in advance, too." He waves the little tube at her.

"Besd be on by way so I don'b bake your guesd sic. I subbose he brobably neebs somb airbornde or immune subbort now..."

Clair waves negligently in Grey's direction. "He'll be fine. The drug's will kick anything that might interfere with my tests." She turns to grin over at the prisoner.

"Except for Mark, here, this is a relatively sterile environment. We don't share airflow with any of the other populated areas on this side. This is, since I don't think I told you, a Dyson sphere in the universe Ashes B, orbiting the Centauri system, which is what you saw in the observatory. Did you like it?"
Dr. Grey: Test tubes.grey_matter on September 23rd, 2007 04:17 am (UTC)
Grey looks at her as if he's checking to see if she's joking. "I recall something about Ashes B." He waves his hand a bit dismissively at that. "But a Dyson Sphere...?" The hand waving pauses mid movement as he says this and he laughs a bit. "Really?" Those certainly didn't exist where he came from. Not yet at least. To think... to think he was in one now. Grey looks like he can hardly contain himself.

"That's wonderful. Is this your world then? Your universe, whatever." He gives his hand a short wave again. He's speaking rather quickly now, and he definitely hasn't lost the grin. He's completely over looked her 'did you like it?' in his excitement at the revelation but it's probably pretty safe to say he did.

Mark chuckles. "Why don'd you keep all your subjecds on the habby candy all the tibe? Bore fun dis way."
Ockette: Octopus - Hermesockette on September 23rd, 2007 07:38 am (UTC)
"No, we're immigrants. Our universe got a little too hot for my husband and I, and this was offered. We own one hundred thousandth of the sphere, which is, if we divide it up into floors, about the equivalent of the surface area of Earth."

A bit boggling to think of, isn't it?

"I should, but it would interfere with my tests. He can stay like this until this one wears off, though."
Dr. Grey: Looking off.grey_matter on September 23rd, 2007 08:06 am (UTC)
Mind boggling it is! "That's rather amazing." Grinnn! "I do like those strawberry candies by the way." Haha. Much better than that stupid depressant.
